When you purchase this Berkeley Systems product, you’re helping to save the world’s endangered rain forests. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this product goes directly to the tropical conservation programs of the Rainforest Alliance.
The Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the world’s tropical forests. While these forests cover only 6% of the world’s land surface, they are home to over half of the world’s plant and animal species. With the current rate of deforestation, now at a devastating 80 acres per minute, we are running out of time and forests.
The Rainforest Alliance finds ways to use forests without destroying them. Among the Alliance’s innovative efforts are initiatives in education, research in the social and natural sciences, and the establishment of cooperative partnerships with businesses, governments and local peoples.
